Lubick Foundation/RamStrength 6th Annual Valentine’s Day Cocktail Party
RamStrength™ will be hosting its 6th Annual Valentine's Day "Spread the Love” event on Tuesday, February 14 at 6 p.m. at the Silver Grill in Old Town Fort Collins. This event is one of the biggest fundraising events of the year for the Lubick Foundation/RamStrength™ and will support local cancer survivors by providing financial assistance for basic needs, scholarships, programs and services. Tickets are $100 per person and include fabulous hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, live entertainment and an incredible live auction. Up with People
Up with People provides young adults an international and intercultural experience that teaches servant leadership and uses the performing arts to deliver messages of hope and peace throughout the world. Up with People's international cast will be in Fort Collins from February 6-13 living with local host families, performing community service projects and ending the week with a performance of an international show at the Lincoln Center. The Arc of Larimer County
The Arc of Larimer County was founded in 2007 to advocate for the approximately 6,000 individuals in Larimer County with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. The organization is seeking funding for client needs such as respite care, computer equipment, assisted living equipment, therapy, and transportation. The Arc of Larimer County is also seeking corporate sponsorship for Developmental Disabilities Month in March and funds to support general operating costs. Centennial High School Health Center
Centennial High School, located in Poudre School District, helps students develop the life skills necessary to increase self-esteem and self-confidence while achieving success in an educational setting. As part of this alternative educational setting, the school’s Student Health Center provides physical and mental health services, including on-site prevention and treatment of common health issues and high-risk behaviors. The Student Health Center is seeking financial support to keep the facility operational through the second semester of the 2011-12 school year. Campus Corps (CSU Foundation)
Campus Corps manages a program at CSU called Therapeutic Mentoring, which pairs 140 at-risk community youth with CSU student mentors. The mentors spend four hours a week with the youth on campus, participating in a structured and engaging curriculum providing academic support, positive social skill development, and interpersonal encouragement. The program shifts the developmental trajectory of socially marginalized, impoverished, disadvantaged youth—many of whom are involved with the juvenile justice system—toward productive citizenship. A donation to Campus Corp will provide scholarships for a local at-risk youth to participate in this life changing mentoring experience. The Phoenix Garage
The Phoenix Garage provides at-risk youth with mentoring, job skills development, science, and technology education through the process of building cool green cars. The organization’s staff is classic car enthusiasts and hope to help kids gain confidence and skills to help them succeed in life. Funding will be used to complete building renovations so that programs may be started and to provide the building with needed tools and equipment. Geller Center
The purpose of the Geller Center is to provide a safe, open, and inclusive setting in which Colorado State University students and the greater Fort Collins community can deepen and broaden their spiritual lives; the organization believes that development of the spirit within the whole person is essential for healthy individuals, for vibrant communities, and for a peaceful world. The Geller Center’s programs challenge persons in a pluralistic world to see through a wider lens and to look for root causes of problems; to nurture diverse relationships and develop compassion; to balance academics with other healthy activities; to hold peace and justice as essential values in decision-making; to engage in active service; and to help students and community members make a positive contribution to the world. HalfMoon Arts teaches high risk youth life and work skills through the arts. The organization also provides support and treatment to youth with addictions. Fort Collins Cat Rescue & Spay/Neuter Clinic
Fort Collins Cat Rescue & Spay/Neuter Clinic is a unique animal welfare organization that not only offers shelter and adoptions for homeless cats & kittens, but also has multiple programs in place designed to keep pets from losing their current loving homes and ending up in shelters. Funding is currently needed in three areas: general operations, medical care for rescued cats and kittens, and equipment for the veterinary clinic. Meals on Wheels for Fort Collins, CO, Inc.
Meals on Wheels for Fort Collins provides hot, nutritious meals, a friendly visit and a wellness check from a volunteer 5 days a week to home bound individuals in the community. Meals on Wheels is kicking off its end of year campaign. The organization is hoping to raise $40,000 to help support its mission! Thompson Education Foundation
The TEF supports the Thompson School District and student learning through scholarships, teacher creativity grants and students in need through Help Kids Succeed. Help Kids Succeed is a community-wide effort to provide backpacks filled with school supplies for students in need in the Thompson School District. Northern Colorado AIDS Project
NCAP is the only AIDS service organization providing comprehensive case management, prevention and counseling in northern Colorado. The organization’s mission is to improve the quality of life for people living with HIV and help reduce the spread and stigma of the disease. As local and federal funding support is reduced, NCAP is seeking general operational funding and funding for prevention, case management and counseling services. In addition, funding for special events help NCAP to leverage the organization’s money to fundraise in the communities it serves. Running River Benefits
Running River Benefits is dedicated to helping families of children with unexpected medical expenses and little or no insurance. Elder Pet Care
Elder Pet Care is dedicated to providing quality, reduced-cost veterinary care to senior citizen pet owners of Northern Colorado. For the past 17 years, the organization’s mission has been to make a difference in the lives of the senior population that it serves. Elder Pet Care is asking for funding to assist with its Annual Care program which will subsidize the annual costs of veterinary care incurred by low-income seniors. The organization has assisted over 3,200 seniors who, without this program, would not be able to afford adequate veterinary care, vaccinations and medical treatment to maintain their pet's health. The Learning House Foundation for Early Childhood Development
The Learning House is Northern Colorado's only nonprofit science and math early childhood school. The organization also facilitates therapeutic playgroups for infants and toddlers as well as workshops for professionals and parents. The Learning House is in need of tuition assistance for children attending its Kindergarten program as well as financial subsidies for its playgroups.
