Emmie's Hope, a component fund of the Community Foundation Serving Greeley and Weld County, invites you to the Northern Colorado Women's Conference "Leaving a Legacy." Trying to change the world one girl at a time, Emmie's Hope is a faith-based group working with middle school age girls to build and enhance self-esteem. The conference will take place on Saturday, May 1 at 9 a.m. at the Embassy Suites Loveland Conference Center. The Atmosphere Conservancy
The Atmosphere Conservancy works with area schools, nonprofits and affordable housing agencies to install renewable energy systems on their facilities, reducing utility costs and improving the environment. By providing the means to harvest the energy embodied in wind, geothermal and solar sources, they allow local service agencies to focus more of their resources on accomplishing their missions and less on purchasing energy. Birthright of Loveland
Birthright of Loveland, a 501(c)(3) organization, provides pro-life services for teens and women who find themselves experiencing unplanned pregnancies. For almost 30 years, Birthright has provided support for clients, talking through their needs in a non-judgmental atmosphere, along with free pregnancy testing and referrals for medical care, housing, legal and adoption services. The Healthier Communities Coalition of Larimer County (HCC) is a group of nonprofit, government, business and citizen leaders focused on improving the health and well-being of our children and youth. Healing Waters Foundation, Inc.
Healing Waters Foundation is a warm water pool with an underwater treadmill, bars, video cameras for visual feedback, resistance jets and a hydraulic chair lift. Alzheimer’s Association
The Alzheimer’s Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care, support and research. Its mission is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. Alzheimer’s Association Memories in the Making® is a creative art expression program for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias. Even after people with dementia have lost the ability to use words, they are often able to express thoughts and emotions and to share memories through painting with watercolors. Crossroads Safehouse
Since 1980, Crossroads Safehouse has sheltered more than 11,000 victims of domestic violence, nearly half of whom are children. Crossroads is Larimer County's largest domestic abuse service provider and offers a confidential safehouse, education for adults and children, and programs that help survivors live independent, happy, and violence-free lives. Crossroads Safehouse seeks support for its children's therapy program, the teen dating violence program, and its campaign to build a new safehouse. Laramie River Valley Rendezvous
The Laramie River Valley Rendezvous is a nonprofit organization that offers an outdoor adventure camp to at-risk youth aged 13 to 16 years. The camp is free to youth and promotes healthy lifestyles through developing relationships with law enforcement officers and reducing criminal recidivism by increasing self esteem and confidence. Laramie River Valley Rendezvous takes 40 youth and 30 staff members to an area near the Rawah Wilderness for a week of hiking, biking, horseback riding and whitewater rafting. Homeward 2020
Homeward 2020, an initiative of the Community Foundation, is a convener for leaders who aim to end homelessness in Fort Collins. Homeward 2020's 10-year plan is a metric-driven effort focused on systemic causes and solutions. This year, Homeward 2020 will work with local homeless-serving agencies and consultants to coordinate demographic data collection of the local homeless population, which is vital for creating strategies and providing a solid baseline to measure progress. The March of Dimes improves the health of all babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. The organization funds this mission through research, community services, education and advocacy. The FCMDSC provides interactive exhibitions and programming to all ages, and is preparing to construct a new joint facility scheduled to open in late 2011. In November 2008, the FCMDSC was chosen as one of only four science centers in the U.S. to be part of NASA's Virtual Space Community; programming includes Tandberg videoconferencing opportunities with NASA using equipment on loan from NASA. The Blend Chorus Educates the Community through a Traditional American Art Form

Dani's Foundation Educates Community about Pediatric Sarcomas
Dani's Foundation is committed to finding the cause and the cure for Ewing's Sarcoma and other rare forms of pediatric sarcomas that are affecting and taking the lives of children and young adults. The Foundation provides patient information and resources; community education with the goal of seeking earlier detection and ultimate survival; and funding for research that is aimed at seeking better treatment protocols for all cancer patients and a cure for these horrific diseases. Dani's Foundation implementing a Colorado pediatric sarcoma education program that will be distributed to all schools and medical professionals; this program will educate all on the symptoms of pediatric sarcomas to aid in early detection of the disease. The Larimer County Child Advocacy Center reduces trauma to children during child abuse investigations. The center provides a child-friendly setting for forensic interviews and the coordination of services while ensuring that children and families receive effective and sensitive support. The organization assists these individuals and families in restoring their lives to become self-sufficient, law abiding, productive members of society, by teaching them to live out Biblical principles in their lives. The Grace Fellowship’s Reconciliation Ministries is currently seeking funding to support its “Walking It Out” program and to fund an expansion that will allow the Grace Fellowship’s Reconciliation Ministries to offer state-certified drug and alcohol classes to the poor. The Larimer Chorale About to Celebrate 35th Anniversary
The Larimer Chorale was founded in 1977 and is now a regionally acclaimed 110-voice ensemble that provides some of the finest choral music available in the state of Colorado. The Chorale's diverse repertoire ranges from the masters of classical choral music to that of contemporary composers. The Discovery Science Center was founded in 1989 to provide enjoyable, hands-on explorations in science and technology for the region. DSC has grown to become a community icon, welcoming 30,000-40,000 visitors each year, offering interactive exhibits designed to engage learners of all ages and making all these resources highly accessible by providing scholarships and free family memberships to qualified participants. Fort Collins Bike Co-Op Aims to Increase Youth Bike Riding
The goal of the Fort Collins Bike Co-Op's "Building Community Through Bicycling" program is to increase the bicycle ridership and safety of students age 10 to 14. The Bike Co-op's goal for 2010 is to reach 5 percent of the 10 to 14-year-old population with cycling safety programs. The organization has secured 50 percent of the funding needed to provide this program and needs to secure local matching funds. Junior League Develops Women’s Potential
The Junior League of Fort Collins is an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. JLFC’s purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. Able Women Career Closet, a program of JLFC, is in need of funds to help with rent ($10,200 per year) and plus-size clothing purchases ($1,000 per year); this will allow the organization to increase its staffing hours to serve more women looking for employment in Larimer County. ChildSafe offers a holistic approach to the treatment of child sexual abuse. Through a combination of individual, group and family treatment and parent education, the organization seeks to heal children and their families from trauma. The Embryo Adoption Awareness Center Provides Life-Giving Adoption Experience
The Embryo Adoption Awareness Center exists exclusively to increase awareness regarding the option to donate and adopt remaining embryos in frozen storage. Donation allows the parents of remaining embryos to give them the opportunity to live; adoption gives the adopting couple the opportunity to experience pregnancy and give birth to their adopted child. The Awareness Center is developing an outreach program to educate potential donors and adopters in Northern Colorado about embryo donation and adoption. The Ladybug Fund Helps Locals Pay for Pet Care
The mission of The Ladybug Fund, Inc., is to help pet owners with financial hardship pay for emergency veterinary care. All of the funds raised by The Ladybug Fund are used to save the lives of pets in need by providing emergency care in life and death situations or by providing emergency care to improve quality of life. An increasing number of animal hospitals in the Northern Colorado area are participating in the effort and contributing matching funds. Pet owners receiving Ladybug funds must demonstrate commitment to responsible pet ownership and follow-up care and must document financial hardship. Community Members Work Together to Restore Loveland High School Pool
The Loveland High School Pool Committee and the Thompson Education Foundation are working together to raise funds to restore the Loveland High School pool. The original Loveland High School Pool was built in 1965 through a collaborative effort of the Thompson School District, the City of Loveland and the community at large; unfortunately, the pool was condemned and closed eight years ago. House of Neighborly Service Extends a Helping Hand
House of Neighborly Service provides emergency services to families in crises in South Larimer County. Those eligible to receive such services may be given food, clothing, emergency shelter, utility, prescriptions and transportation assistance. The House of Neighborly Service encourages donors to invest in its endowment fund through the Community Foundation.
